The Snow Goose Inn

The Red Shutter Inn
The stately Red Shutter Inn, located in the West End of Wilmington village on Vermont Route 9, was once the home of Joseph Courtemanche, a local carriage maker and blacksmith. Courtemance was also the valleys first electrical entrepreneur, building and operating Wilmingtons earliest power plant.
The inn retains many of its original features, including the high ceilings, fireplaces and cozy conversation areas. The main house offers nine guest rooms, and the vintage carriage house tucked away behind the house offers three additional guest rooms and a more private suite with fireplace, cable TV, and a whirlpool with an overhead skylight for a view of the heavens. The White House

This magnificent Victorian mansion was built as a summer home for lumber magnate Martin Brown. Brown was responsible for a number of local landmark structures, each more impressive than the last, with this hilltop masterpiece as his crown jewel.
With its 14 fireplaces, finely crafted woodwork, and sumptuous antique furniture, visitors to the inn are treated to a real slice of the genteel life. Some visitors may be lucky enough to get a visit from the White House of Wilmingtons friendly ghost, and everyone will enjoy the more earthly delights offered in the award-winning restaurant, open to the public.
